Let me get this straight
Not really one of the Unfortunately Placed Ads... maybe it was God's will to put it there???

Disapproval
The fleeting moments when the world aligns...

I'm not sure it qualifies as one of the Unfortunately Placed Ads, though...
Word
A collection of 70s logos (via invarilin) contained this almost familiar bit:
Glassy & Classy
This ad campaign caught my eye, so to speak. Simple, funny, on message. Good stuff.
(via slick)
Another intentional one, at least I'm guessing it is
The new ads for a local furniture seller feature this motive ("The new furniture is arriving!"). I don't like the company much, but the ad is kind of cute, with that drawer face and all.
What's with the legs and skirt though? The whole package looks a bit creepy. Please excuse the photo quality, turns out the particular traffic light I was stopping at isn't red for a very long time!
Coming soon
An ancient scroll (and Bob, the balloon)
A couple of years ago, I made these graphics for a project at work (Mr Clean merchandise store). Play around with the balloon, you can move it by clicking.
Phoning this one in I'm afraid
I made these for a university project; basically I was telling an Indiana Jones like story about a guy who uses his cell phone (that was what the brochure was about) to do various interesting things. The "story" was designed to highlight the features of the phone, of course.
I never finished the thing, so here's just the illustrations. Cover:
Now the first thing you have to know about this fictional phone is that it is very secure. Bad Guy can't get to the information stored on it, so he's a bit miffed, to say the least!
Now, what he doesn't know is that the phone is incredibly sturdy, so Good Guy can knock him out with it, no problem.
Good Guy gets away, but is he going to get lost in a city he doesn't know? No, cause our awesome phone has a map service installed!
There's also an event calendar application, so he can easily find the venue where Love Interest is a singer, and *woosh* take her with him!
To get to the Remote Temple where Mysterious Icon is to be found, they need to charter a plane. They pay with the VISA-over-phone service integrated in the package. Smart, huh?
They parachute out of the plane as soon as they reach the right spot - easily found on the satellite map with location markers that is available on the phone.
Once they've landed, they really just gotta find the spot marked X. Helpful in this situation: the GPS and compass that are in the phone.
They find the Remote Temple, and while the brochure ends here, adventures at home continue with the gaming abilities the phone has.
The back of the brochure shows a coda: they've found Mysterious Icon, now Good Guy needs to do the switch thing. Only, as his sideways glance shows, he's suddenly not so sure any more that he wants the Icon more than he wants the phone. On message to the very end!
Can you imagine how thoroughly my mind was blown when a shortly after I made this, a cell phone GPS/map system called Wayfinder came on the market?

Diese Nähmaschine hat den wahrscheinlich coolsten Produktnamen aller Zeiten.

Strange Plants
If you know who did this, drop me a line. It's beautiful. It's impressive. It's a really great Wild Demo :)
edit: Alright, this was made by 1st Ave. Machine. NICE. (thanks ALiEN & paniq)
More like Kan'tdoo
Now, Kandoo is toilet paper, made especially for small children. It's a good product, I believe, and I've worked with the brand, they're nice people. But look at what a screenshot of their web game on kidskandoo.com revealed:
Gotcha!
Another brilliant Honda ad (count's at three)
I couldn't care less about the actual product, but damn that's some great advertising. Thanks Wieden + Kennedy London!
And thanks for the parody, 118 118
I spent too much fucking time on this
...not because I spent a lot of time on it, but mainly because I wasn't aware that 7up had already run an actual campaign with that slogan. I just thought I was making a nicely insulting variation of a product logo. Damn you, 7up! You and your strangely brave advertisers.
Here goes nothing
I was looking for a player for .flv files - Flash Video - and found fluffy. The agency that made this tool, nothing, has a nice site with a backlog of disturbingly candy-cartoonish illustrations and cute logo design, oh and did I mention they're robots from the year 3086?
